New year, new try, Fire raptor

So I've wanted to do this blog for a while, and attempt one didn't go so well due to being busy in other areas, so I want to get this back on track.

I've still been working on a few projects, mainly the forgeworld fire raptor. This is a really nice model, but quite an awkward kit, anyone who is thinking of getting one I would recommend it, but be prepared  to spend a bit of time putting it together.

It's also a monster on the tabletop, potentially firing five weapons at four targets, three of them twin linked weapons. I was playing a game in a tournament and in a turn it took two broadsides, a squad of fire warriors, and enough kroot to make two squads fall back. The Tau player then ensured it died next turn. Its very effective against 4+ saves and somewhat effective against 3+ saves. It weighs in at a little over a storm raven, which is it's closest counterpart in common usage. It'll  take me a few more game to work out how to use it to its fullest, but other than that it's a fun model to use.

To finish off, here's the base I've made for it, which is part of the design spec shown later:-

Sorry if the formatting of the photos is poor, still getting use to using this site! More pics of the raptor as it develops
